The Timberwolves, on the other hand, had to navigate the challenges posed by the new collective bargaining agreement. With a high payroll and luxury tax implications, trading Towns was a strategic move. In return, they received Julius Randle and Donte DiVincenzo, which helps balance their roster and financial situation.

Overall, both teams have positioned themselves well for the upcoming season, making this trade a win-win scenario.
