De’Aaron Fox delivered a spectacular performance, scoring a franchise-record 60 points in the Sacramento Kings’ 130-126 overtime loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves. Fox’s incredible effort included shooting 22-for-35 from the field, 6-for-10 from beyond the arc, and 10-for-11 from the free-throw line. Despite his heroics, the Timberwolves managed to secure the win, with Anthony Edwards scoring 36 points, including seven in overtime.
The game was a thrilling back-and-forth battle, with the Kings rallying from a 20-point deficit in the third quarter to force overtime. Fox’s 26 points in the fourth quarter and overtime were instrumental in keeping the Kings in the game. His performance set a new Kings franchise record, surpassing Jack Twyman’s 59 points set in 1960.
Kings coach Mike Brown praised Fox for taking the game upon himself, especially with teammates Malik Monk and DeMar DeRozan injured. Brown described Fox’s performance as “spectacular” and noted that he almost single-handedly carried the team to the finish line. Fox himself admitted that while he wanted the game to end in regulation, his teammates encouraged him to keep pushing for the 60-point milestone.
The Timberwolves’ Anthony Edwards acknowledged Fox’s talent, calling him “one of the best point guards in the league” and expressing his admiration for Fox’s performance. Edwards’ 36 points were crucial in securing the Timberwolves’ victory, as he went shot-for-shot with Fox in the final minutes of the game.
